The Long Now
The Long Now is a composition of sound, light, tones and projections that I realised with the media composer Phillip Schulze in the Romanesque church in Obergrunstedt near Weimar. The work deals with the church space as such and the perception of time under the aspects of this world and eternity. The original claim of a church space is transcending. In The Long Now, sounds are modulated out of the building through body sound speakers, while projections direct images from the smallest and largest vistas of our worlds, to atoms and distant planets.
