The third chapter of Fortress of Solitude The Atomic Garden explores the richness of variation in growth and breeding. Mutations are spontaneously visible changes, faster than evolution. On display are variants and investigations of palm trees, pine trees, beaches, deserts, atomic test areas, experimental arrangements of models as sculptural objects, including islands on my mind (2005), 200 Miles to Trinity (2009), Three sides of Trinity (2021), and Clouds over Trinity (2010).
