Under a strange sun
At some point, it no longer worked together with him and the others.
This is the simple way to describ the fascination for Wilhelm Reich. He turned from being a committed psychoanalyst and social psychologist to an outkast, ostracised and revered personality.
The Nazis had his books burned and he emigrated to the USA in 1939. There he developed new research approaches, such as the famous orgasm theory and the term orgone. He condemned atomic research. In 1954, Reich visited the atomic test site in New Mexico with a small group: here, for him, the misery that ailed the Western world came to light. Against this, he developed the Oranur (Orgone Against Nuclear Radiation) experiments.
In the further course of the Oranur experiments, with his Cloudbuster, he thought he had come into conflict with extraterrestrials, which he vehemently communicated to the US government. In the McCarthy era, his books were again burned. In 1956, he was sentenced to two years in prison, which he did not survive.
