Now imagine you find yourself in a really strange place, very alone, in perfect silence. Who wouldn’t have all sorts of things running through one’s head once they’ve got yourself together again? Or, who doesn’t know how is is to hum a tune to themselves. Some people also like to sing out loud when they think they are unobserved and unheard, like when taking a shower. “Listen to the music playing in your head”, like the Lady Madonna in the Beatles’ song. Which songs might you have in the ear, in the head? I wonder what songs one might sing to oneself as a lonely astronaut? From the songs that ran through my head, there are passages of text drawn in the visor of a space helmet. If you read them, you might know one or the other. If you don’t have a catchy tune now, you’re fibbing.
