This book has its origins in a collaboration with the Berlin-based performance group bücking&kröger.

We had explored the era and the concept of Romanticism through various performative approaches. Following an analysis of the photographic documentation, this visual essay emerged, in which Romantic images serve as the source for visual forms across various genres. The notion of the creative individual in Western culture also derives from Romanticism.
